Is it possible to place digital mustard on a sandwich or a hot dog. It would not be a physical food but could create the effect that the look of yellow mustard alone without the calories could reduce intake of calories.
If consumers are accepting digital books, currency, and so on why not digital food. Despite the fact that humans might not be able to taste digital food, however they can see images, read the words describing the texture, and listen for the sound pouring out of a bottle.
Food is an experience and provides anticipation of the meal in advance. A digital form that could satisfy hunger, nutritional intake, and reduces waste could be the solution to food shortages and excesses.
Digital food could potentially be the next technological wave in how meals are eaten. The technology and the acceptance may be 50 years away but I think will eventually be accepted as food.
