This group will be about learning life skills that are helpful for your home life. These skills will include knowledge for learners and by learners, with Grandma Moderator Dr. Donna in the club to make sure that everyone keeps the peace and is of good behavior! You can be a part of as many groups on or off Outschool! The focus of this Home Group will be on cooking, sewing, and crochet. Learners will introduce themselves based on their skills in cooking, crochet, knitting, and sewing, and ask questions of other learners in order to learn new cooking recipes, tips in cooking, special recipes, new crochet patterns, finger crocheting, and tips in crocheting, plus new sewing patterns, tips in sewing, and using either a sewing machine or needle and thread, knitting, and more. Learners will also have the opportunity to showcase their creations of cooking, sewing, knitting, or crochet by taking pictures and posting them for the entire Home Group to see. The moderator will participate in this as well from having knowledge of cooking, sewing, knitting, and crochet, as well as finger crocheting. This group can also be like an online magazine about House and Home. The schedule of the group is flexible. There are not any live sessions and you can post comments 24/7 from around the world! Learners will meet many friends by sharing their languages knowledge from all over the world! There are many opportunities for children to learn the skills that are needed to become wonderful homemakers of all genders! For every 10 posts that a learner submits in this group, they will receive at least one book that is written by the moderator! You will also receive a special visual novel video game made with RPG Maker once you complete the class! Some creations that may be discussed in this group include: Pictures of brownies being cooked including the recipe. Pictures of omelets being cooked including the recipe. Pictures of pizza being baked including the recipe. Pictures of cushions sewn including the pattern that was used. Pictures of quilts sewn including the pattern that was used. Pictures of old clothes sewn. Pictures of sweaters knitted including the pattern that was used. Pictures of gloves knitted including the pattern that was used. Pictures of hats that were crocheted including the pattern that was used. Pictures of scarves that were crocheted including the pattern that was used. Types of interactions between Learners will include: An Aspiring Chef Learner asks a Knitting Learner: Would you like to trade my recipe for pancakes for your pattern for that great sweater you showed last week? The Knitting Learner responds: Yes! Definitely! Those pancakes you made looked great! What syrup did you use with those? And then the Knitting Learner would upload the picture again of the sweater that the Learner made with the pattern instructions. Activities would include weekly and once the group gets going daily encouragement for group members to share knowledge of Home Group related topics such as the focus of sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cooking accommodating all languages (that would be translated by the moderator) and all families from around the world. There would also be a sharing of different cultural knowledge in terms of "what makes a home?" and Home Group related activities. Moderators role in asking weekly questions to stimulate discussion among the group will include: What are your preferences in creating a great home, keeping in mind knitting, sewing, crocheting, and cooking? What do you think makes for a beautiful piece of knitting? Do any of you have any examples? What do you think makes for a beautiful piece of sewing? Do any of you have any examples? What do you think makes for a beautiful piece of crocheting? Do any of you have any examples? Since pictures cannot describe the taste or smell of cooking, please describe your experience when eating your cooking? How do you help out around your home? As well, posts will include "What is it games?" with pictures of knitting, sewing, crocheting, and cooking, that are posted by the moderator and learners need to identify what the picture is. This will be a great group that all Learners will enjoy and learn a great deal from! Subscribe Today! |
