But first...
Dulltown, UK: Today's dance is the Ballo, it's from Italy, in the 15th century.
Come on! Let's Ballo round the kitchen! Hey, watch my crockery with your waggling elbows!...

Well, today's title may be a bit misleading, dear reader...
No it isn't! Photos of sunsets are really-really pretty dreary - aren't they?
Real sunsets look great, don't they? Photos of them, are not so good. Oh, those colours! All the colours at the reddish end of the spectrum.
'Do you know why that is, Dave'?
Well, I saw a science documentary on TV about such things, was it, Brian Cox, or was it good old Jim Al-Khalili? They are both really good on TV! Brian is generally a bit flasher than Jim, though.
Apparently, it's all to do with the air on this here planet, the stuff that we all suck in and breath; it goes all around the world in a remarkably thin layer; when we look upwards we are looking through this skin, but when we look horizontally, like at a sunset, we are looking sideways through a lot more of it, as our view is just above the horizon. Apparently all of our air really likes to absorb all the blueness of the light, but not the ruddy shades - so in the evenings, when we are looking through a lot of air, almost all of the blue light gets stopped, and the sky is pretty much... reddish.
When was it? Last November, I think?
It was a good sunset, manifesting itself over the large car park that feeds the nearby hospital.
I had my camera with me - of course.
'Oh, Dave, don't bother...' I told myself, 'Sunsets do always look great, but photos of them generally look pretty drab, don't you think - put the camera away'!
'Well - maybe - this one is so spectacular - I might...'
'No, no - don't you dare!... Just put the camera away!'

I suppose it was those glaringly burning orange bits that did it - oh, and maybe that row of horizontal lights drifting off sideways - oh, and that car in the corner with its lights on - oh, and thank goodness for that church spire! Good old religion!
'Will you be putting this one onto your Flickr photo-sharing site then'?
'No, I think that they have a rule about people putting sunset photos on it - you are only allowed one every twenty years!'
'Really?...'
'Well, no, but that should be the rule!...
Anyway, no, I'm not... There are far too many of them there already.'
