Neil Brand's new version of the classic spooky Sherlock Holmes tale The Hound of the Baskervilles will be premiering this December for a cast of eight actors and music performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra and members of the BBC Singers.

Standing over Hugo Baskerville, and plucking at his throat, there stood a foul thing, a great, black beast, shaped like a hound, yet larger than any hound that ever mortal eye has rested upon.

A desolate house, an escaped murderer, and a bloodthirsty supernatural beast – Conan Doyle's best-selling mystery has all the ingredients of a classic thriller. Following the success of his adaptations of A Christmas Carol and The Wind in the Willows, composer, dramatist and long-term collaborator with the BBC SO, Neil Brand has crafted a chilling, gripping and hair-raising version of this favourite tale. The game is afoot - join us if you dare…

Tickets will go  on general sale from 8 April.
