The Follow 📰
[1] The enterprise ecosystem is experiencing a disruption that's largely a result of more cloud-native applications coming on the scene as cloud computing explodes. More companies are embracing a mix of both corporate devices and bring-your-own-device strategies.
Radix, an Israel-based company, enables organizations to manage devices — such as laptops, smartphones, interactive flat panels and more — across their networks with its proprietary VISO engine — a GDPR – and CCPA-compliant cloud-based device management platform that runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Radix specializes in Android-based solutions for enterprise and education verticals. According to Nadav Avni, CMO of Radix, the company's VISO engine allows users to increase administrative effectiveness, eliminate operational complexity, reduce customer churn and improve customer experience and satisfaction. >> Read more.
[2] The Hive threat group has been targeting organizations across the finance, energy and healthcare sectors as part of coordinated ransomware attacks since June 2021.
During the attacks, the group exploits ProxyShell vulnerabilities in MSFT Exchange servers to remotely execute arbitrary commands and encrypt the data of companies with this unique ransomware strain.
The group is highly organized, with the Varonis research team recently discovering that a threat actor managed to enter an organization's environment and encrypt the target data with the ransomware strain in less than 72 hours.

Redwood City, California-based startup Wisq, which describes itself as the first platform designed for the social connection needs of employees, came out of a yearlong stealth period today and announced that it closed $20 million in Series A funding led by Norwest Venture Partners.
Wisq is similar in operation and appearance to business-only internal networks such as Slack, Teams or Asana, but it stands apart because it provides a different, much more personal environment for team members at a company. >> Read more.

The Buzz 🐝
Kevin Beaumont
This is a good technical report for defenders.

Highlights two things for me:

- IcedID using .iso files (potential AV and Mark-of-the-Web bypass) and .lnk files
- Emotet also doing same
- Expect more evolution away from Office macros in coming years

Emergency health technologies for future public health crises will be built on the infrastructure developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this blog, Ada's @melmevsi reflects on the implementation of contact tracing apps in the UK.

The cloud is going green — sources say that cloud sustainability, carbon footprint measurement and advanced grid management software are the three emerging environmental sustainability technologies that will reach early mainstream adoption by 2025, according to Gartner
The research giant expects the transition toward a net-zero economy to be as disruptive as the industrial revolution or the digital revolution. >> Read more in this new report from Gartner.
