cloud modernization via Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other public clouds continues to accelerate. However, the relatively scarce talent and cloud platform knowledge required to build, scale and optimize AWS environments have made it challenging for many organizations to reach their cloud goals — or at least to reach them as quickly and cost-effectively as they'd like.
To fill requisite gaps in AWS expertise,
68% of organizations using AWS report they plan to become more reliant on cloud-managed or professional services over the next 12 months alone, according to a new report from 451 Research
Surprisingly, the report shows that organizations self-describing as sophisticated AWS users are actually even more driven to rely on cloud-managed and professional services. Among those running more than
80% of their workloads on AWS, 79% plan to rely more heavily on cloud managed services in the next 12 months.

While this is an important question, it is not something that the enterprise needs to concern itself with just yet. Even if such an
algorithm were to arise, would it be all that useful in a practical sense?
But if artificial sentience is not real yet, why are some tech vendors touting their ability to create the "
sentient enterprise"? For one thing, ambiguity in terminology has long been a marketer's dream. However, the fact remains that even though today's AI is not sentient, it still provides many useful capabilities to enterprise data environments.

[3] On average, more than
50% of a company's data is "dark" – that is, information held up in data repositories with no attached or determined value. In addition to costing an average of $26 million in storage expenses per year, dark data poses significant risks to an enterprise's security and compliance efforts, making it more important than ever to address the foundational issues that cause it.
Because dark data is often out of sight and out of mind for many enterprises, dark data reservoirs – holding
sensitive and valuable data – become an enticing target for cybercriminals and ransomware attacks.
Untagged and unstructured data also poses challenges to meeting regulatory landscapes that are constantly evolving.
