The new Batgirl movie - which features Michael Keaton and J K Simmons among its stars - will not be heading to HBO Max or the big screen.
Leslie Grace was playing Batgirl in the movie from Ms Marvel's Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The new Scooby Doo movie has similarly been cancelled. The company, now Warner Bros. Discovery, is pivoting to focus on blockbusters rather than the lower-budgeted HBO Max features.
Warner Bros Discovery released astatement: "The decision to not release Batgirl reflects our leadership's strategic shift as it relates to the DC universe and HBO Max. Leslie Grace is an incredibly talented actor and this decision is not a reflection of her performance. We are incredibly grateful to the filmmakers of Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt and their respective casts and we hope to collaborate with everyone again in the near future."
