But first...
Dulltown, UK: Today's cute large molecule is the one that you've just breathed in.

Monoprint or monotype?
No, I don't know the difference either, I could look it up I suppose, but I can't be bothered - and I'm sure, dear reader, that you have no interest in this matter whatsoever. Monotype sounds more clever, though, doesn't it?
'Look, here's my new monotype! Isn't it grand'?
'It looks like just a monoprint to me'!
'No it doesn't!... Goodness me! It's a bloody monotype'!
Anyway, here's a quick one, it's one of my 12 seconds ones.
'Why do you call them that, Dave'?
Because they take that long to do. So very quick! They are just done to use up the printing ink left over, smeared on the glass plate, from doing an edition of lino prints - roll it flat, a quick scrape, or two, of a palette knife, and press a bit of the nice Japanese paper on, rub it with finger and...
'And?...'
And that's it, apart from letting it dry on the clothes line for a day or so. Look, here's one!
The trouble with these, is that people seem to like them a lot more than my carefully done, time consuming, and much cleverer and well thought out, lino prints.
Ha!...
A Quick Monotype. 2022. Oil-based ink on paper, about A4 in size.
