Jaclyn McQuaid has been President and Managing Director of GM Europe since November 1. As the manufacturer announced in a press release, she succeeds Mahmoud Samara, who is leaving the company for family reasons. McQuaid has been with GM for 22 years, where his responsibilities included global vehicle programs. Most recently, she was chief engineer for full-size trucks.
Delf Schmidt is the new Managing Director of Genesis Motor Deutschland GmbH. With immediate effect, the 47-year-old succeeds Benjamin Winkler, who is leaving the company. Winkler was at the helm of the German Genesis subsidiary for just over a year. Schmidt already works at Genesis. Since the beginning of this year, he has served as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Previously, he worked at various car dealers as interim managing director, including the Brass Group.
Michael Wellenzohn will become CEO of Borbet, a manufacturer of alloy wheels, effective January 1, 2023. He succeeds Margot Borbet, who has held the position since 2019 and will head the Supervisory Board, the Board of Trustees of the Borbet Foundation. Wellenzohn has many years of experience in the automotive and mechanical engineering sectors. Most recently, he was a member of the Executive Board of Deutz for nine years, and before that he was Managing Director of Thyssen Krupp Presta Steering for 18 years.
Matthias Magnor will assume the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer of BLG Logistics effective December 1, 2022. For example, the Board of Management departments "Automobile" and "Contract" are to be merged. Magnor has been responsible for the "Contract" division since October 2021. Previously, he was COO and a member of the management board at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics in Osnabrück.
The electric commercial vehicle manufacturer Volta Trucks has appointed Karl Viktor Schaller to the Executive Board. His appointment is to be confirmed at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. Schaller comes with 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and was most recently Executive Vice President Motorcycle Engineering at BMW from 2014 to 2019. He is currently an honorary professor at the Technical University of Munich and a board member of Westport Fuel Systems in Canada.
Petra Teräsaho will become the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Valmet Automotive and has been appointed to the Group's management team. She is expected to take up her new position by the end of March 2023 at the latest and succeeds Juha Torniainen, who will leave the company in the first quarter of 2023. Until her move to Valmet Automotive, Teräsaho will remain CFO of the Enfo Group. Previously, she held various management positions at Nokia. She is also on the supervisory boards of F-Secure and Paulig.
Andreas Seum has been the new Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at software developer TDM Systems since September. In his new role, he intends to further expand business in North America, Asia, and the EMEA market. Seum has more than 26 years of professional experience in the fields of software, tool, and mechanical engineering as well as sales. Previously, he worked at Siemens and Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, among others.
