Dear reader, do you have a wire box?
No, not a box made of wire, but a box of some kind with pieces of wire in it.
I do have one of those, and I assume that most other people have one too.
It's always good to have one, just, for those times when you need, a piece of wire.
Maybe to let electricity run through a piece, or perhaps to tie something to something else, or you need a small piece of naked copper, for some purpose. It is often good when the wires are different colours and thicknesses, too. Stout wires for carrying heavy current, or thin ones, say, to make a resistor, or maybe a capacitor, more handy for fastening into its place, say, if you were trying to get rid of the high, too squealy, top sound of a Fender Stratocaster guitar, or something like that. You might want to repair a break in a wire fence, or to make some coils if you needed to make an electromagnet, or securely tie the top of a bulging bin-bag. I try to keep my box of wires tidy, you know, the wire in neat coils, rather than them stringing and wriggling about, and getting tangled to hell - such a box of wires would deter one from even thinking of poking about in it, and also, one might...
Yes, but one day, when I needed to take a photograph of an early sketch for a lino print design, I thought that putting it in my wires box might be a fairly good idea - a lot more visually interesting, you see.
I was thinking about bending overlapping lines, against a black background, and some elliptical hoops for them to go through, and maybe have an odd eye in the picture - eyes in a picture are pretty effective, you know. Hm... see how the curves sweep and progress! Do you think that the sweeping bending curves have anything to do with rolled up pieces of wire in the box?
No, I don't think so...
