Hm, a card in an airmail envelope with a US stamp on it, through the door this morning.
It's from Veronica Crush, writer from the glory days of the Hull Surrealist League, now living in New York with tall tree surgeon, and heir to a multibillion dollar fortune, Monty Tick.
The card, which wishes me a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year from V and Monty, sports on the front, a photo of Ex-President Trump. I refuse to say what it is, that seems to be sitting on his head, as it might be far too upsetting, dear reader.
Inside the card was a small sheet of pale thin blue paper with a list of closely written names on it. These were some of V's spare character names - she thinks up new ones every day, far more than she can ever use in her writing. She sends them to me, so that I can offer them, free of charge, or as unfortunately she says now, 'for free', on these pages - to any young writers, who struggle coming up with nicely named, and memorable, characters to put into their work. Do see below.
As usual, she has slipped a real person into her list, see if you can spot which one it is.
The answer may be found via the link at the bottom of the page.
