Yesterday?
What happened yesterday?
Oh yes, that awful meeting with horrible poet Tony Mayonnaise, and of course, my old friend Myrtle. What about later in the day?
Oh, yes, I got back home late in the afternoon, and I wasn't sure what to do with myself. I drifted into the studio/workshop. It was cold in there, I put the heater on, and the radio on, and went off to make a cup of tea.
Studios/workshops are good. You can always find something to do when you go in one.
It's not as if I needed to do another of my 'Black Dots' drawings/paintings; there are probably enough of them already, but as I sipped tea in the still chilly room, one started up on the piece of the white paper clipped to my drawing board, as soon as I got near it. Fingers, in the bright bright paint - daub, daub!
Perhaps, dear reader, you might like to have a quick look at the half-done work. I grabbed my little old workshop camera and snapped a shot for you.

Do you like my stylish drawing table? It's a proper big, but old, expensive one.
I got it very cheap, years ago, from some sort of architect, who decided that he was going digital. It is extremely heavy, should one wish to shift it around. Those moveable ruler things on the left are very handy for doing horizontals and verticals, should one need them in one's work - which I generally don't, very much. Still, the thing is a nice and impressive piece of good quality apparatus!
There is the new, half done, 'Black Spots' drawing, you can't really miss it, can you? Only a few black dots on it so far, but the fluorescent colours are installed. It needs another good afternoon's work to finish it. I am optimistic.
What else is visible here, that might be of interest?
A little clip-on shelf, on the right, where I put my pencils, pens and rubbers. Look, there's an orange plastic template set of round holes on there too. Very handy they are!
Upwards from that, you might see a few stuck-on scraps of paper with trial black dots, and triangles, etc. on them.
What's above that?
Oh, who is that pale faced lady, with the eyes?
Oh, that's Fenella Fielding, the actor. The snap is from her in Carry on Screaming, a great British comedy horror film from the 1960s. I recommend it! (click here)
She's there because I copied her eyes for something eyelike in a lino print design some time ago - anyway, I just like her face staring at me, it is comforting, as I work...
Oh, look!
You can also see some first-copy-trial lino prints, on cheap white paper, taped to the wall all around the edges of the picture.
