At the centre of Raphael's famous fresco "The School of Athens," our eyes are drawn to Plato, Aristotle and Plato's cat Timothy. Plato is concerned about the nature of forms whereas Aristotle is arguing for the importance of particular and Timothy is looking for the buffet. These three approaches to the philosophical life are encapsulated by these central figures.
