interview (in Dutch) - rehearsal
This tape is part of the Punk Etc archives.
The interview (in Dutch) with Antwerp punk band 'Noise Boys' mentions they consisted of Benny (bass), Rik (vocals), 'Jules' (drums) & Patrick (guitar). Benny & Raoul kicked Ronny Cuyt out of the band, engaged Patrick and went on as a trio, until new vocalist Rik appeared. The name changed from 'Noise Boys' to 'Boys'.

In my fanzine [Ontgoochelde Frigo #1] this band is mentioned as 'Noise Boys 906'. As far as I know, there was also another band ('901' [with first 'Noise Boys' singer Ronny]) with somewhat the same members (I think). Their drummer became the drummer of 'Ze Barbies'.
They were Ronny Cuyt (vocals/lyrics), Patrick Van Daele (guitar), Benny Van Den Berg (bass/vocals) & Raoul Van De Weyer (drums). Some of them had previously played in 'Karton' ["cardboard"], a playback band with cardboard instruments. They imitated songs of 'Sex Pistols', 'Dead Boys', 'Sham 69', etc. They didn't have enough money to buy real instruments back then. Ronny said that for 'Noise Boys 906' having fun was the most important thing: "We make simple rock. It's difficult to be original. Our lyrics are politically oriented... We sing about social abuses, unemployment, livelihood, fascism, nuclear power plants, etc.".

Drummer Raoul ('Jules') has passed away. Patrick is still alive.

I don't know where these recordings come from. The 'Noise Boys 906' originated after 'Karton' quit. We were around in 1978-81. The rehearsal-space was in the Van Maerlantstraat, where the Ronny's - Frank and a chick who's name I forgot - lived. Great fun. One of the Ronny's was the singer...
