OK, played, got into more trouble in Baldur's Gate, now I'm really in trouble. Not sure how much I can talk about. You?
Feminina:
I went into Baldur's Gate (later, Simmeon) and pretty much immediately wandered into the sewers, as I like to do in real life every time I come to a new city. Fought a bunch of carrion crawlers in the sewers. Checked out some of the many exit points from the sewers and poked around a bit of the rest of the city. Talked to a necromancer. Not much of a story there, but it kept me busy.
Butch:
HA! I did the carrion crawlers and an ogre mage just last night because SEWERS! Found both a ring and a dead guy and I have no idea what quest they're for. Left the dead guy because he was heavy and I didn't want to get to a new city and wander around with a dead guy all "Know this guy?" to everyone. Reminded me too much of that time I did that when I went to Vegas. That didn't end well.
I'm so ahead of that quest it just says "Dead male body." I'll come back to it.
I also suppose you found the Thieves guild and the sketchy shop. Where's the necromancer? I think I'm looking for that dude.
City is large, and I'm in a situation where I have to run around it looking for something without stopping to actually explore which is irksome.
Who is Simmeon? And who did you meet to replace him? I haven't met anyone I can recruit, but, as I said, in a bit of a hurry at this time.
Feminina:
Simmeon is the guy Dorn wants to kill, who is currently too tough for us. "Later" in this case is short for "we'll come back and kill you later." Maybe when Neera has more than 8 hit points.
Sorry, you wouldn't have any way of knowing that. I should have said "later, dude Dorn wants to kill." That would have been clear and to the point.
I haven't met anyone in the city I can recruit so far, though I'm keeping my eyes open. Have you found a store called something like 'Sorcerous Sundries'? The necromancer is in a house down the street from there. Someone in the store warned me against getting involved with a couple of necromancers, and I think he was one of them, but of course I took his quest anyway because I can't refuse anyone.
"I'm just a girl who cain't say no to a quest
I'm in a turrible fix,
I always say come on let's go find this creepy necromancer a dead body,
Just when I otter say nix."
Butch:
Dear sweet Naked Zeus how long have you been sitting on that joke?
Brava, Femmy, brava.
Or when you get Neera some better armor. I gave her the bracers I found in the mines, but you likely kept those for yourself, right?
Also, did you find the "boots of speed" in the mine? Those are kinda hilarious, but also useful.
Is that the place that looks like a tent or something? In the first area? Because yes, found that, and was warned by random guy and took the quest because of course. Just like I took two or three quests from thieves, because sure, I spend all my time doing the right thing and being heroic but QUESTS!
Feminina:
It only just occurred to me at that moment! As musical theater interludes so often do.
Yeah, down one of the streets from the tent-looking place, there's a locked house with a necromancer who is not at all disturbed when you pick the lock and come in (just like in real life). He wants a body. For totally legitimate reasons, I'm sure.
Butch:
Such interludes do present. That they do.
Ah, shit. See, I wasn't picking locks. I picked a lock when I got there, looted something (as one does) and the Flaming Fist showed up all "THIEF!" and I tried to bribe them and they were all "AND YOU BRIBED US!" and fight and reputation and reload. Figured the law was the law in this city. Apparently not.
Feminina:
I did that too! In a store! So I'm leery of picking locks as well, but apparently sometimes it's OK. This will be confusing.
Speaking of confusing, I assume you met Elminster again, the mysterious old dude we keep meeting? Said something about how we have bad blood in us, hungry blood that Gorion did his best to control but we'll have to make some decisions in the end.
Sounds ominous.
Butch:
I did meet that guy! I also met another dude who knows Jaheira! Lady gets around.
I also need help....library book sale day. I went to the book sale. And I took a picture of a sign so I remember to go to an estate sale tomorrow.
I've become.....one of THOSE people.
I'm so very sorry.
I've also decided that last week's threshing justifies this cheesecake I just made.
And...uh...I carried books to the car!
I'm fine.
Feminina:
Totally fine.
I didn't meet anyone who knows Jaheira, probably because she's not with me. Maybe later I can come back through this city with her and Khalid and meet more people.
Someone tried to fight us in an inn because of Dorn and Viconia being evil, that's who I met instead. We just left, because killing someone in a barfight seemed like a good way to attract unwanted attention from the guards.
