Spoilers for some minor details in the Dragonspear expansion to Baldur's Gate
Butch:
I played. Finished up in the area, left the area, went to the next area. Poked around. Picked a fight with some half orcs. Learned things. Met some real orcs. Got into a fight. As one does.
What's with Skie? I heard her fight with Duncan and smack him or something. Something's up.
Dude, did you get the thing from the vampire's messenger? I LOVE THIS THING! This thing is the BEST THING.
I also had another talk with Corwin and I guess I said the right thing because one of her things she says when you click on her is "Do you think love can bloom on the battlefield?" HELLO!
Also, did you get this weird aside with Dynahier where she was all "I am glad I am travelling with you," and you could say "Me, too," or "I think you should leave?" Like, if I wanted to ditch you, I'd ditch you. Odd.
That's what I did.
Feminina:
Dude, I left to check on camp and couldn't go back to the vampire, so I did not see his messenger. Since I can apparently never return, you must tell me about it.
Corwin's been asking me if I think love can bloom even on the battlefield for AGES, man. And yes, yes I do. You're the closest thing to a heavily armored lizard I see, so yes.
Actually maybe M'Khiin is a little closer to a lizard, being green and all. But she somehow seems like the type not to be interested in romance. Though I shouldn't assume!
I ditched Minsc and Dynaheir a while ago because they were injured and I wanted to recruit some healthy new people and head right back out without waiting to sleep. I have Rasaad and Glint with me right now. Rasaad has some fire-related abilities that come in handy against trolls, just as an FYI.
Of course, so would Dynaheir's fireballs.
Butch:
Oh dude, I have so many fire arrows. Glint can wait.
Dude, the messenger showed up in new camp! There's hope! I was just in came and this dude was all calling my name and boom! I thought the same thing: Oh well, no messenger for me. But no! Messenger! And DUDE. It's a gem that heals you one point per round and it works in AND OUT of combat! Hurt? Just pass around the gem! Everyone just hold the gem for a while. BOOM!
Watch for the messenger.
If you romance M'Khiin, you will forever be my hero.
I also got the "find the amulet" quest from the healer after I got to NEW camp. Is that a glitch? Was amulet in old camp?
Wait, Rasaad has abilities? I have Rasaad. He has abilities?
Feminina:
Yes! Solar ray or something! Check it out.
She told me about the missing amulet at old camp, but I never found it there, so who knows, maybe she actually lost it while scouting the area for new camp and it'll turn up here. I don't know. This game is being really weird about what shows up when.
Also, I never heard anything about a vampire messenger until you mentioned it, so I probably missed something in his lair that I can't go back for, which sucks because that does sound like an AWESOME gem.
Siiiiiiigh...I'm missing out on all the good loot. Off my game here.
Butch:
No, man. You did the fight, you don't have to go to the lair. He was all "Hey, thanks for helping, watch for my messenger," then the messenger just shows up. There's nothing to miss. I hope. Because it's an amazing gem.
Feminina:
OK, that's a relief. I'll certainly watch for a messenger. I went into the vampire's lair and found a coffin, but the only option was the sword for 'attack' and I thought "if I just killed two people to help this guy, do I really want to get in a fight with him and try to kill him too?" Seemed like a waste of picking sides. So I just left. I didn't hear him say anything about a messenger, but I do keep the sound low and sometimes miss things in the scrolling text, so I probably just missed it. Fingers crossed!
Butch:
This gem is the bomb, man. The bomb. You have to take off your helmet to use it (don't ask me why), but who cares?
Feminina:
Ha! That's awesome. "The gem needs access to your brain..."
Actually, it would also be pretty funny/terrible if in fact it needed access to your brain because it's gradually hypnotizing you or something, so that at some point you'll be taken over by the vampire and have to do his bidding.
That WOULD be a pretty 'vampire' thing to do. "You were pretty good at fending off my enemies, why not join my army of remote-controlled puppets?"
I mean, probably that's not going to happen here, but suspicion springs eternal.
Butch:
I didn't think of that....
Shit. Stupid vampires.
Feminina:
I probably made it up. mean, at worst we'll just all have to make saving throws and battle a vampire at some point, right? It's not as if they'd make this a game-ending twist even if it is a twist.
